Sumariðja krakkanna og fleiri vinnufúsar hendur óskast

Silfrið í höfn og fögnum því.

Fólk hefur sýnt mikinn velvilja í að tilkynna vinnuframlag um næstu helgi og vantar þó fleiri,elskurnar mínar. Vinsamlegast látið vita, ég er að bauka við að ganga frá skipulegum vinnulista, bæði fyrir föstudag og laugardaginn. Trúlega verður opið á sunnudag 31. frá 1-5 og við þurfum líka að biðja um aðstoð við þann dag.

Í kvöld er hópur í Síðumúla eina ferðina enn, nú að verðmerkja og allt mögulegt. Það eru margar hendur sem koma að þessu verki. En ég hef líka trú á því að allt gangi eins og í sögu.
Vantar líka fleiri tilkynningar um Fatimukökur.

Viðtöl og fleira upp á síðkastið hafa skilað nokkrum styrktarmönnum og þó nokkrum sem þegar hafa lagt fram peninga. Allt sýnir þetta rausn og góðvild sem ég þakka kærlega.
Yngsti stuðningsmaðurinn fram að þessu hefur gefið sig fram, Þórbergur Logi Björnsson. Hann er 4 ára og hefur eignast fóstbróðurinn Aram Abdulkarem Abdo Omear sem er nýlega sjö ára. Flott hjá Loga. Allt í sparibauknum fer í þetta næsta árið hjá honum.

Hér er svo bréf sem barst frá Nouriu í dag. Tekið skal fram að kostnaðurinn við alla þessa iðju og námskeið er innifalinn í þeim peningum sem við greiðum.

This summer was particularly colourful. A big celebration marked the end of the year and the successful completion of the course. Children performed plays and sang. Gifts were distributed to all the students.










Sports
A soccer game was organised and held at the Juvenile Centre between YERO's children and the Juvenile Centre Team. YERO’s team won the cup for the second consecutive year. To encourage children to discover various sports, a billiard and a basket were installed in YERO’s playground. Basketballs and volleyballs were provided as well.


Outings
The children of YERO were granted a special permission to visit Al Salah mosque (Mosque funded by the Yemeni president Al Salah) which will open during Ramadan (Holy month for Muslims). A visit to the Yemen National Museum was organized, the children particularly enjoyed the exhibition on Socotra Island ( A beautiful island off the coast of Yemen). A trip to Beni Matar is planned for the end of the summer: it’s a chance for the children to travel out of Sana’a for a day. A group of deserving students spent a day at Happy Land, a recreational park, for entertainment and a dinner.






Art
The summer holiday is an opportunity for children
Interested in arts and handicrafts to pursue their hobby
during their spare time. Children were given the necessary tools to express their creativity and explore.
A talented group of children started to write a monthly magazine/bulletin “Nor” (meaning light) targeting teenagers.


Computer and English classes
To develop the children skills, computer classes were started last year and held throughout the year. The children are taught basic software and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. An English teacher started teaching English twice a week during the school year and provided classes every day during the summer.
